DERBY - Thirty one scouts and leaders from Housatonic Council Boy Scout Troop 3 Derby and two international exchange scouts each from Limerick, Ireland and Peterborough, England recently completed a two week camping adventure in the Pacific Northwest. Traveling more than 2,700 miles from Los Angeles to Seattle by 13 passenger vans the scouts camped and hiked at national parks including Yosemite, Redwoods, Mount St. Helen, Mount Rainier and Olympic National. They also visited the cities of Los Angeles, San Francisco, Portland and Seattle. Highlights of the trip in addition to the hikes included dune buggy rides in the Oregon Dunes National Recreation Area, a San Francisco Giants baseball game and a sunset catamaran cruise in San Francisco Bay.
