Apr 24 & 25 Giant Tag Sale benefiting Canyon Adventure Scouts – Help is needed by parents to set up and price items this Wednesday during Troop meeting and on Thursday, if needed. We are still accepting items on Wed. in good working condition (no clothes). Early Bird Sale is Friday night (6-8PM) $2 charge, and 8 to 2 on Saturday. Canyon Adventure Scouts must wear troop tshirts and participate in Tag Sale to earn their share of the profits. See Mrs. Debbie Oppel for more information.
We plan to have Gang Show soloist rehearsal at Derby 2nd Cong Church during the Tag Sale on Apr 25. More details to follow.
April 25 - Shelton Operation Clean Sweep: Shelton Scouts not part of the Canyon Adventure are asked to participate in the Shelton Sweep cleanup day. Contact Mr.
Gil Pastore, Chairman of the Anti-Litter Committee at 925-9046 to coordinate your participation.

Each patrol will earn 200 points for a patrol campout (Trojan Rabbits to have theirs this coming weekend). All patrol equipment must be returned clean this Wed to earn the patrol points.
Gang show boosters Great job collecting over $1000 in boosters. Winning patrol and scout will be announced this Wed. Final call for boosters (won’t count for contest) this Wed. We are working on the 95th anniversary t-shirts and hope to have them for the Spring Camporee.
OA Dues – Order of the Arrow troop representative Billy Kowarik to announce list of OA members with outstanding OA dues this Wed. Pay your dues so you can remain a member in Paugassett Lodge 553. OA elections to take place soon. Must be at least 1st Class Rank with 10 nights of camping to be eligible for election. Let Billy know if you are eligible and would like to be a candidate for election into the OA.
May 1-3 : Kings Point Eagle Scout Association Invitational Camporee at the United States Merchant Marine Academy. Signup deadline has passed. Full Class A uniforms and signed code of conduct sheet required for participation. There will be patch trading opportunities. Outgrown scout uniform parts? If you have uniform parts you no longer wear please donate to the troop's uniform exchange closet. Bring in this Wed. See Mrs. Theresa Ng if you are looking for a uniform part to make you Class A. Pack 3 is also in need of Cub Scout uniform parts. These can be given to Mrs. Carole Cafaro or Mrs. Susan Stankye. May 15-17 – Housatonic Council Spring Camporee : Sign up with Mr. Oppel begins this Wed (early bird $5, after 4/29 goes up to $9). Big patrol points will be awarded for scoring well at the Camporee which will affect patrol standings . Everyone should plan to attend. Lots of great stations like sling shot paint ball target shooting, rifle shooting, frisbee golf.
April 22 troop meeting: Patrol 1st aid (hands on) demos (patrols must have 6 sets of supplies for hands on portion of your demo) : Whirling Dervishes- CPR, Scorching Skulls -eye, Ghostriders -head, Trojan Rabbits - knees, Deviled Eggs - ankle, Pink UPMAs-leg/arm, trp meetings begin at Derby Methodist Church .
April 29 troop meeting: zipline & fire safety merit badge, Merchant Marine Academy prep & trailer load, Gang show rehearsal

May 25 - Derby-Shelton Memorial Day Parade As part of the upcoming 100th anniversary of Scouting all Scout units will march in the same division in the parade. Lets look our best in our Class A uniforms.
June 7 - Troop 3's 95th anniversary celebration, Noon at Villa Bianca in Seymour. More details to follow.
