Gang show boosters are due no later than Apr 15 to Mrs. Cafaro. Pizza party to highest selling patrol. Each scout who sells $20 in boosters will earn a 95th anniversary tshirt. See Mrs. Cafaro if you didn't receive boosters or if you need more.

March 25 - Canyon Adventure Trip meeting, 7:30PM - Scouts to present their research findings on the areas we will be camping at. Scout Uniform inspection will take place on March 25. Points to be awarded to patrol with the highest average inspection score. Patrol Leaders have been given inspection sheets.
March 27-29 - 1st Class Emphasis, Patrol Leader Training & High Adventure Weekend @ Multipurpose bldg/Tierney bldg. Sign up by this Wed with Mr. Oppel. Cost is $5. Class A uniforms are mandatory. High Adventure scouts to cook Sat supper for everyone with their cookoff contest. Sat & Sun breakfast and Sat lunch to be provided by the troop. Refer to scout handbook for personal equipment checklist. We are looking for additional parents to assist with our 3 different group activities. Schedule of activities:New scouts: 7- wake up, 7-9 – breakfast, 9-10 - tent and dining fly, 10-1- fire/lunch, 1-2-flag stuff, 2-3-hike, 3-4:30-totin chit, 4:30-5 knots and lashings, 6-7:30-dinner, 8-movie. High Adventure Scouts: 7 wake up, 7-9 breakfast, 9-10:30 project, 10:30-12 games, 12-1 lunch, 1-3 shooting, 3-4 spudgun, 4 prep for cook off . Patrol Leaders: 7-9 breakfast, 9-2 PL training, 2-3 hike with new scouts, 3-4 spudgun, 4:30 –5 knots with new scouts, 6-7:30-dinner, 8-movie. Church service will take place prior to the movie.
April 1 - Earlybird deadline registration for summer camp at Ed Strang Scout Reservation. Contact Mr. Ray Oppel rayo58@sbcglobal.net should you have any questions regarding your scout account balance sheet that was distributed at the court of honor.
April 5 - Eagle Scout Court of Honor for Jimmy Anderson, 2PM, Derby 2nd Congregational Church. Every Troop 3 Scout and family is strongly encouraged to attend the ceremony and celebration. Light refreshments will be served following the ceremony.
April 10 - Good Friday community service projects. 8AM to 2PM. Work to be done at 2nd Congregational Church and several of our scout's Eagle Scout Projects. Pizza will be provided to participants.
Calendar Change: The Patrol Camping weekend will take place April 17-19 and the Canyon Adventure Trip Giant Tag Sale will take place April 24&25. Also add: May 1-3 : Kings Point Eagle Scout Association Invitational Camporee at the United States Merchant Marine Academy. Signup beginning this week with Mr. Oppel. Cost is $15.

I am the High Adventure Coordinator for Troop 431 from Minsi Trails Council in Allentown, PA. I have learned a great deal from rediang and studying Dr. Bob's posts on Philmont and his AT blog. We are preparing for a trip to Philmont in 2013 and I was wondering if the Alonzo Stagg event is open to Troops from outside the National Capital Area Council and the Chain Bridge district?Thanks Bob BSA Troop 431 East Texas, PA

One correction to the med form. The pantres need to fill out the sections called GENERAL INFORMATION and INFORMED CONSENT AND HOLD HARMLESS/RELEASE AGREEMENT which in the link below is sections A and B. In the old form (which is still valid) it is sections A and C.Please let your pantres know. I will need a form for each scout and each adult. I also need the permission slip for each scout. If your pantres can scan/email or drop them off tonight that would be great. otherwise they can give them to me on Saturday.Jim
