Feb 8 – Scout Sunday at Derby 2nd Congregational Church
All scouts should attend in Class A uniforms and all families are asked to bring refreshments for social following the service.
Candy fundraiser - Additional boxes are still available. You make $25 for each complete box you sell. Candy money must be returned by the end of February.
Feb 14 Sweetheart’s Dance at Warsaw Park – tickets available, raffle prizes needed. Help is needed for setup, selling raffle tickets...etc Parents should email Bev Martin at bevmartin@snet.net to let her know how you plan to help make this another big success.
Feb 20-22 is our Troop Winter Camping Weekend at Tierney Building. Signup with Mr. Oppel – open to first 22 scouts to register.
Feb 22 is the Housatonic Council Recognition Dinner 4PM at Villa Bianca in Seymour. Elwin Jimmo, Rich Mezzepelle, Richard Williams and Samantha Mahan are among the adult honorees and the Derby 2nd Cong. Church is being awarded Sponsoring Organization of the Year. Register at council office by Feb 12.
The next Court of Honor is March 11 – All patrols should be working on rank advancement and each scout should be working on at least 1 merit badge.
Feb 4 Troop Meeting: Military theme & boot camp obstacle course: zipline, tires/hurdles, jump the lake, calisthenics, balance beam . also troop adventures presentation. Be prepared with winter hat, gloves, jacket & boots as some of the meeting will be outside. Pack 3 Webelos to be visiting.
We will have 3 Scouts from Ireland and 2 Scouts from England visiting with us this summer as part of the Exchange Scout Program. Host families will be needed.
Canyon Adventure trip scouts are reminded to be up to date with monthly trip payments. See Mr. Oppel for your balance owed. There will be a Canyon Adventure trip meeting on Feb 11 at 8PM.
