This weekend, Oct 17-19 is the Fall Camporee at Strang Scout Reservation
Arrive as close to 6PM as possible on Oct 17 (some daylight remains for setting up tents). Depart at 10AM on Oct 19 (all scouts expected to stay and do their share of takedown & cleanup). Patrols are responsible for meals & cleanup supplies. This event is rain or shine, so BE PREPARED. Brief PLC following Camporee closing ceremony, no PLC Sunday night.
Oct 22 is the troop's quarterly Court of Honor. All parents are encouraged to attend. We will also have exchange scout, Seabase and Maine Adventure trip presentations.
Backpacking weekend is Oct 24-26. Appalachian Trail, Fantastic Fall Foilage hike for scouts 1st class & above.
Nov 8 Scouting for Food pickup - We will meet at the 2nd Congregational Church at 11AM to retrieve food donations from our assigned routes. Parents needed to help drive.
Nov 8 will be our Macaroni & Meatball fundraiser at St. Mary's Church in Derby to benefit Housatonic Council. Flyer attached, please print and post. Thanks to the following families who have already agreed to sponsor ingredients again this year: Grassos, Campolis, Poppas, Jimmos, Altamiranos, Liddels, Laskos' and Andersons. We still have several ingredients that need sponsoring. ($50 bread, $25 coffee supplies, $40 sauce containers).
Nov 15 Scrap 'n Chat Fundraiser for Housatonic Council. First United Methodist Church, Shelton. $40 all day 9-5, $30 half day. For more information contact Sue Stankye, 736-9539.
Tickets are available for Brian Dennehy's Nov 15 performance of "Hughie" at Long Wharf Theater. Tickets are $50 and we will be meeting Brian after the performance. See Randy.
Oct 30 is our Troop Halloween Costume Party & Games night, bring a bag of individually wrapped candy. Prizes for best costumes. All-Game night, good time to bring a friend (worth 200 points each for up to 5 friends).
All profits generated from these fundraisers go into each scout's troop account for camp and trips.
