My sisters are both in the early satges of girl scouts and my mom reluctantly agreed to be their troop leader. They are seven and five and I think that their group, all kids and parents from our local church, would freak out if a boy tried to join. While it is accepted now as part of the regulations, I would wonder exactly how many groups actually let boys in, especially if they are church based like the troop my sisters are in. While it is a great step in a sort of unified organization, I think there could be a lot of uprising out of the acceptance of boys into girl scouts and vice versa because I would immediately want to try to join boy scouts if I could at that age.
